INTRODUCTION

A Construction project is a complex operation. It usually involves numerous stakeholders with a variety of competing interests. Regardless of whether you are an owner, contractor, subcontractor, or consultant, you need to be aware of why claims arise and how to prevent them from becoming a dispute. You also need to know how to properly submit a claim to make it easy for the receiving party to understand and deal with it. The workshop will equip you with all the above.

DESCRIPTION:

In this dynamic one-day course, participants will delve into a comprehensive exploration of construction project complexities, emphasizing proactive strategies to identify and address potential conflicts early in the project life cycle. The course aims to empower individuals with the skills required to prepare, submit, analyze, evaluate, and gain approval for construction claims.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES:

By the conclusion of this workshop, participants will achieve the following objectives:

Identify the root causes of construction claims and assess their acceptability.
Recognize warning signs indicative of potential claims and implement preventive measures.
Cultivate an understanding of each party's role in the prevention of claims.
Formulate effective methods for presenting construction claims to the receiving party.
Understand the optimal approach to reviewing claims.
Choose appropriate strategies for resolving construction claims.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND:

This workshop is tailored for representatives from various construction project stakeholders, including owners, consultants, contractors, and subcontractors. It also serves as an excellent starting point for those aspiring to become professional contract administrators.

COURSE FORMAT AND DELIVERY APPROACH:

The one-day course is delivered online, instructor-led, live on Zoom.
Sessions are interactive, encouraging participant contributions through examples, learning activities, and group discussions.
Each day is structured into sections, ranging from one to two hours.
Sessions include lectures, real-world examples, learning activities, and group discussions, with a 10-minute break every hour.

DELIVERY SCHEDULE

Course start at 8:30 AM and ends at 4:30 PM with one hour lunch break

COMPUTER SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS:

Desktop/laptop is required, with dual monitors recommended.
A microphone, speaker, and webcam are essential.
Participants are encouraged to share their webcam for enhanced communication.
A high-speed internet connection is recommended.
Familiarity with Google documents and sheets is advantageous.
