Producing a quality product and services will also enable us to compete in an unpredictable and volatile markets. Reducing the rework is a great outcome from attending this course. It is also a great competitive advantage

Course description

The 2-day course starts by introducing quality and quality management. The course takes a proactive approach to quality by building it in rather than doing inspection later. For example, it is better to engage the best engineering firm available rather than choosing the lowest bidder and then monitor their work closely. The course addresses quality as it applies to construction and project management. It concludes with an introduction to quality auditing. Quality auditing is very essential to ensure construction projects are carried out to meet the quality standard and Organization policies.

By the end of the course, participants will be able to:

  • Produce a quality management plan to support the quality management system
  • List and explain quality and quality management concepts and principles
  • Apply quality management approach in all project components and phases
  • Identify own roles and responsibilities in delivering a quality product and service
  • Apply quality tools effectively and with confidence
  • Explain products and services quality dimensions
  • Describe the consequences of not meeting the quality requirement/standards.
  • Raise own quality awareness as well as his/her team

Course delivery approach

  • The 2-day course is delivered on-line instructor-Led, live on zoom
  • The sessions are interactive, participants contributions are expected and welcomed
  • Each day is divided into Sections, varies between an hour to two hours
  • Each session includes lecturing c/w examples, learning activities and group discussions
  • Be prepared to share your opinion to enhance common understanding
  • There is a 10-minute breaks every hour


Computer System Needed

  • Desktop/laptop is required. Dual monitors are recommended. No phones please.
  • Microphone, speaker, and webcam are required
  • Be prepared to share your cam to enhance communication and understanding.
  • High speed internet connection is recommended

  • Importance of communication, When, how, what, and why communicate
  • Team and stakeholders’ communication issues


Building quality in Risk Management

  • Reduce Risk on your project, test new technology on a small scale
  • Always involve customer and contractors in the risk analysis


Building quality in Human resources

  • People are the most important asset
  • Recruit wisely and provide training as required, decision making level


Building quality in Construction scheduling

  • Develop a realistic time schedule
  • Critical issues in developing schedule


INSTRUCTOR BIO

· Dr. Fahmy is the president of Performance Excellence Institute (PEI). A training and consulting firm located in Edmonton, Alberta. PEI is specialized in supporting organizations through providing expertise and training in project management, risk management, and communication skills.

· Dr. Fahmy is a P.Eng. PMP, RPM.CCM, CBC+, CSM, DASM, DTM, ATP(PMI). He is a retired adjunct professor from U of A where he taught Construction Project Management, Construction management, Contract Administration, Risk Management, and Interpersonal Communication Skills courses.

· Dr. Fahmy is an international speaker and trainer. He has more than 40 years of hands-on experience covering a wide range of project management topics.

· Dr. Fahmy has a unique interactive approach for delivering workshops and presentation. His depth of practical experience and enthusiasm make his presentations a highly informative, interesting, entertaining learning experience
